In a recent interview, queer theorist Judith Butler was quoted stating:
“securing greater freedoms for women requires that we rethink the category of ‘women’ to include new possibilities and identities...”
This is one of the primary goals of the Queer Birth Project. Representation and inclusivity around birth and family plays a significant role in expanding cultural ideas, accessing healthcare, and building community. Feminism must be intersectional and inclusive to thrive.
